🔥 How to put the fires in your business
(3.5 min read) 3 Concepts, 2 Frameworks, 1 Proverb Pic
Happy Sunday! This is the Christian Entrepreneur, the weekly newsletter that is the help you need so that your business isn't an office fire.
Don’t be a Ryan

3 Growth concepts
Concept #1
If you cannot decide the answer is no
My Takeaway: Basically, if you can't make up your mind, just say no. It's better to play it safe than to take a big risk and end up regretting it later. This way, you can avoid any major screw-ups and keep things chill. So if you're not sure about something, don't be afraid just to pass on it. Warren Buffett said that most of his success is not based on his genius but from benefiting from others’ stupidity.
Concept #2
Learning = same situation but diffrent response
My Takeaway: This statement means that real learning happens when someone is faced with a situation that's similar to one they've experienced before, but they respond differently in a better way. My question is……..How did we come to believe that learning was just in our heads? So when the same situation happens in your business, respond differently….like you said you would respond last time.
Concept #3
Entrepenures will not grow into more pain
My Takeaway: Stressed now? Growing a business will just be the same, just bigger…. entrepreneurs will not willingly subject themselves to more challenges as their businesses grow. Rather, you need to seek to minimize pain and find ways to make the growth process as smooth and sustainable as possible. That probably means firing that employee or mean customer.
2 Personal frameworks
1. Smooth is fast, even if smooth is slower than fast.
Fast is not fast when it’s messy. You will have to clean up the mess. Cleaning up the mess takes 2x as long. Then you have done 3x the work that you would have done if you just went a little slower. So when you are tempted, go fast. Slow down.
2. Discipline is the hard part
There is so much great content out there. There are a lot of business genius out there giving away their secrets for free. Why? Because the real secret is that they know most people are not disciples enough actually to do the thing. That’s why people pay coaches. It’s all about accountability.
1 Proverb Pic
When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
Proverbs 3:24
My takeaway: This verse emphasizes the importance of finding peace and rest, especially in the context of a life guided by wisdom and understanding. It suggests that when we follow the path of wisdom and make wise decisions, including in our work and personal lives, we can experience a sense of security and tranquility that leads to restful sleep.
The verse encourages the pursuit of wisdom, which can result in a more balanced approach to work and rest. By making wise choices and striving for a healthy work-life balance, we can attain the peace of mind needed for restful sleep and overall well-being. This aligns with the idea that working hard while maintaining self-care and balance can lead to contentment and a more peaceful state of mind. Working hard can provide peace of mind for several reasons:
Sense of accomplishment: When you work hard and achieve your goals, you feel a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, which can bring peace of mind. Knowing that you have put in the effort and achieved something meaningful can be rewarding and calming.
Personal growth: Working hard often leads to personal growth and skill development. As you grow and improve in your abilities, you may find that your self-confidence and self-esteem also improve, contributing to a sense of peace and contentment.
Purpose and meaning: Engaging in hard work can give people a sense of purpose and meaning in life. This feeling of being engaged in something important or meaningful can contribute to overall peace of mind.
Reduced stress: By working hard and addressing challenges head-on, you may feel a sense of control and mastery over your life. This can lead to reduced stress and anxiety, resulting in a more peaceful state of mind.
To attain ultimate rest, one must witness Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for our sins. This allows us to relinquish the burdens of self-justification and the pursuit of self-worth and salvation. The gospel of the cross represents the sole authentic wisdom capable of granting this rest. Combining this understanding with the notion that working hard can offer peace of mind, it becomes clear that dedication, wisdom, and faith contribute to a more harmonious and contented state.
